Daily Levity: Who says there is only one way to do things?

by Katie on August 4, 2009

Okay, so I admit it’s simple and all, but I  watched this video 5 times in a row when I first saw it.

I was captivated by this person who had the idea that he did not want to do something the “ordinary way”.  Not only did he imagine a way that he could experience this moment differently, he went ahead and did it(and filmed it)!

I love the idea of this kind of intentionality.    At times, when I have been trying hard to “live with intention”, I have found myself so serious trying to do it  “right”. Of course,  I deeply believe that setting intentions are of utmost value to living a satisfied life and so I have been giving much more focus to the idea that living with intention is meant to bring greater joy, possibility  and openness to my life.

This video of the man’s simple intention to do something differently is a great example of the importance of intentions that up our “Fun Quotient”.  These are little ideas we have that make us smile and make our day brighter and brighten the day of those around us.  By upping our Fun Quotient,  we create more room for creativity and wonder in our lives that will fuel not only our daily sense of levity but also it will energize us for our goals we are striving towards.

What in your life might be richer and more satisfying if you dreamed about it  and did it differently?

What could you set your “fun intention” on today?

Cheers to being bold today and to setting intentions that will enrich our lives and ENLIVEN them too.

Enjoy the video and your own brand of fun.

Hey, I recognize that water park guy!! ;) I am so glad I’m not the one only who just totally busts a gut at this guy.

My fun intention today is visiting WONDERFUL BLOGS like yours. I just came from Tess’ Bold Life and others where I’ve been really silly with my comments. And I’m here at the library and laughing out loud but I don’t even care what anyone might think of me. I”m busting up the day. And it’s joyful.

Plus, I’ve got a big beer chilling and chocolate in the freezer for later, whee–hoo!

You have got a great point! We take the process of making our intents so seriously that we have forgotten to have fun along the way! I think I spent more time trying to learn what has gone wrong with the ones with different intended results than congratulate myself on the parts that I have done right. Thanks for an important reminder!
